"I applied with Camex after I decided that I wanted a career rather than just another run-of-the-mill job. Camex was advertising for a Junior Surveyor with no experience required.

I had come from a civil/construction industry where I had a good understanding of what surveying was, but not the 'how' or 'why'. I knew that because this was a junior position I would have a lot of learning to do, and Camex had offered to put me through my Level 6 Diploma in Surveying which I’m currently completing around my work requirements.

I have been with Camex for almost a year now and the support both in the office and out in the field has helped me to grow to where I am now, which is independently surveying.

I really didn’t know what to expect when I first started. I wasn’t overly confident in myself, but everyone was very welcoming and supportive of you being the best version of yourself.

You really aren’t just another number; you matter here at Camex. Even the CEO takes the time to see you and ask how everything is going.

Camex is trying to build employment opportunities for all of us, the people who work here are here for the right reasons - we all want the same thing. This has made it seamless for me to be able to grow exponentially but also at my own pace. I want to do a good job, I want to work hard. I want to show that I value Camex as much as they value me.

I would love to see more people get opportunities like me. I found when searching for jobs everyone wants experience, but no one is offering it. It’s extremely hard to get a foot in the door sometimes and this was the foot in the door I needed."
