Te Awamutu Wastewater Pond

Project Overview:

This project was commissioned by Waipā District Council to create a new wastewater overflow pond divided into new partitions. The purpose upgrade was to address issues with sludge management, sludge thickening/dewatering, sludge disposal and recycling of liquors. The project also included changes to the existing oxidation pond.

Project Scope:

The scope of works for this project involved the construction of two Wastewater Overflow Ponds (WOP), including dewatering area to undertake the works, construction and installation of the new WOP floor, walls, and pump-station extension of connections for all drains and returning dewatering flows into the existing plant, and removal of any sludge required.

The completion of this project guarantees that Te Awamutu residents will continue to benefit from a functioning wastewater plant, equipped with modern and future-proofed infrastructure.
