 Right now, we have the opportunity for Drainlayers and Water Reticulation Technicians to join our team in one of the fantastic lifestyle locations of either Cambridge or Taupo.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

With Camex Civil, you will be part of a specialised team, supporting the delivery of our drainage / water reticulation works for local body infrastructure, commercial construction, and subdivision development projects.

Experienced Tradesmen will:

  • Lead a crew and support the training of apprentices.

  • Work closely with the Site Manager to plan and manage job progress, methodology and resource needs.

  • Interpret drawings and specifications, to ensure excellence in delivery.

  • Manage HS&E standards, and QA testing and record keeping.

Hours of Work:  Average of 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Saturday work is available, but not mandatory. 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Experience in a leadership role.

  • The ability to read plans and do set out.

  • The ability to operate plant.

  • A completed NZ Apprenticeship and Qualification in Drainlaying or Pipeline Construction and Maintenance is preferred, but we are keen to help you get there!

Land Surveyor (Cambridge)

Camex Civil has an established and growing inhouse Survey Team, and we want you to join us. 

You will have the autonomy in this role to self-manage your work delivery, with the support of our experienced Survey Manager and skilled team members. The fundamentals of the job include: 

  • Regular site visits to multiple key projects in the region, as you come alongside and work closely to support our construction teams with the technical requirements of survey. 

  • Reviewing construction designs in light of geographical information, and advising the project team. 

  • Providing set out to accurately position existing and planned structures, using GPS & total station equipment.

  • Preparing survey data and AsBuilt reports, using Civil 3D and Magnet office software.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • This role is ideally suited for 3+ years of survey experience in the construction industry.

  • A diploma or higher qualification in Land Survey is preferred!

  • A methodical approach, with an eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Full Class 1 Driver’s Licence

Project Operations Manager (Taupō)

We have continued to expand and are looking for an experienced Project Operations Manager to take on a new and exciting opportunity.

ABOUT THE ROLE:


You will have the opportunity to build into a passionate team, as you work closely with our dedicated skilled site teams across key projects in the region.

You will support and drive operations to ensure the efficient and effective execution of projects inclusive of all operational aspects, managing resources, mitigating risks, and maintaining communication and coordination among stakeholders 

The fundamentals of the role include:

  • Monitoring engineering drawings and specifications, and changes to designs or proposed methodology.

  • Supporting business functions engaged to coordinate internally available services, labour or plant, as required for project delivery.  

  • Developing and operating to construction programmes, incl. scheduling of key resources and services.

  • Construct and regularly revise a comprehensive business plan, with consideration of overall market trends and operational capacities. 

  • Maintaining accurate cost control and managing the project claims process with the support of a specialist Quantity Surveyor.

  • Maintaining client and stakeholder relationships, reporting requirements and negotiations.

  • To develop specific operational objectives and efficiencies in adherence to goals mutually established with the Senior Leadership Team. 

  • Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and work specifications for quality of delivery and standards of safety and environmental control.

WHAT YOU NEED:

This role is ideally suited for 10+ years of project management experience in civil infrastructure works, including expertise specific to Land Development & Earthworks.

  • A bachelor or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.

  • Full Class 1 Driver’s Licence.

Prior experience in any of the below projects would prove beneficial.

  • Major and Minor Earthworks.

  • Drainage (Waste Water, Storm Water and Potable Water).

  • Pavement.
